With the Lightning in town for their first meeting since Ovechkin's controversial goal celebration, an bigger-than-usual media crowd was at Kettler to find out about how the players feel on the rematch with Tampa.
But, it's safe to say Bruce Boudreau is a bit tired of answering questions on the subject, as he went off on a TSN crew who brought up the subject.
So with that percolating in the background, the Capitals are set to play their only game in seven days when the Bolts kick off Washington's last homestand of the regular season, a four-game set in which the Caps hope to finally clinch the Southeast Division title and perhaps make a charge at the Bruins and Devils for a better seed.
The Capitals have been perfect against Tampa so far in four meetings this year, but now with the added motivation of trying to play spoiler and the Caps' penchant for playing down for their opponent, this is no gimme.
All four teams that will pay a visit to Chinatown over the next nine days are currently out of the playoff picture, and only the Sabres have any shot at the postseason, so it's a prime chance to pick up some points - if they can take advantage. Following that, it's a three game road trip as the Frozen Four is at Verizon, and then the puck drops on the second season on likely the 15th or 16th of April.
Just don't ask the coach about Ovechkin's celebration.
