Barring a last-minute settlement, the Capitals and defenseman Milan Jurcina will head for arbitration today, with the blueliner seeking a raise from the $912,500 he earned last season.
Jurcina, who will be battling for ice time in what figures to be a crowded camp of contenders in September, will submit his case for a substantial raise while the team will attempt to keep his price tag down in what usually is a awkward excercize for both parties.
The hearing will be held in Toronto, with the results coming on August 6th.
