No 'Low Blows'

Arbitration is always an awkward process for players and their teams, since while the player puts the best light on their performances to get a raise, their club essentially makes the case why their skater isn't that valuable.

Fortunately for the Capitals, the latest Washington player to go through the process, Milan Jurcina, went through relatively unscathed after his hearing Tuesday, per In the Room.

Per Jurcina's agent, Allan Walsh:

"It was very professionally presented by both sides," he said. "There was some strong advocating by both sides, but certainly there was no nastness [Ed note: sic] or low blows as has occurred in some other hearings."

As the post notes, last year's hearing with Shaone Morrisonn became rather ugly, as the team reportedly called the blueliner "one-dimensional."
