Alex Ovechkin has just gotten the Capitals on the scoreboard first with a snap shot from the top of the left circle that beat Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller at 6:24. Ovechkin skated into the zone and cut right eluding Sabres rookie defenseman Tyler Myers before firing the snap shot. The goal came on the Capitals first shot and is Ovechkin's 17th of the season.
